The Story of SmokeWood

Come join us at our chuckwagon, pardner!

It all started when a food craving resulted in a cookout, then evolved into a concept, and is now culinary complete and ready to cater!
SmokeWood is a full-fledged mobile restaurant that’s “fired-up” to deliver a new dining experience at The Lodge at Blue Sky this summer.

SmokeWood’s seasonal operation hosted its grand opening to great reviews at The Lodge at Blue Sky on Father’s Day weekend and is now following with weekly Friday dinners at Gracie’s Farm through Labor Day. In addition, SmokeWood will also be serving its menu on the 4th of July, August 9th and on Labor Day up at the Lodge.

SmokeWood was created and is owned by Park City local David Williams, a Texas native with an oddly varied resume. He retired from a successful law career to become an award-winning author, then embarked on a brief career as an admittedly mediocre stand-up comedian. As much as he enjoyed the law, literature, and the laughs, cooking for others has always been a constant passion and an affinity for the flavors of his childhood compelled him to try his hand as a professional pitmaster and chef. “Not in it for the money, just for the love and the leftovers,” is how he describes the SmokeWood venture.

The Texas-Style Craft Barbecue menu features barbecue platters, sandwiches, and delicious desserts.

Yuta, The Lodge at Blue Sky's signature restaurant, is curating the beverage menu, offering beers, cocktails and soft drinks.
